On September 22nd Instagram and Threads welcomed you to a special event to kick-off New York Climate Week.
In this space, you were encouraged to connect and collaborate alongside fellow creators and thought leaders to prepare for the week ahead.
CONCEPT
The purpose of the event was to bring together creators and thought leaders in town for climate week for a casual “Instagram-centric” opportunity to connect, collaborate, and discuss the importance of sustainability during an otherwise busy week.
We achieved this using four core pillars:
Connect: Join a community of like-minded creators and experts who are passionate about climate justice, sustainability, and impact.
Collaborate: Share ideas and explore new opportunities for making a difference together - and capture and share some beautiful content!
Create: Participate in activities that bring art, tech, and sustainability to life. Showcase your collective creativity and commitment to climate action.
Advocate: Come together in the community to set intentions for the week ahead and engage in meaningful conversation IRL and on Instagram and Threads.
We're excited to provide safe spaces for meaningful advocacy and to encourage active support of our communities.

PRODUCTION DETAILS
Sustain Frame is a multidisciplinary creative agency that specializes in immersive event experiences with a focus on sustainable production. We specialize in immersive design, event production, and culinary installations.
For this event, guests are invited to participate in a space brimming with opportunities for creativity and education, all meticulously designed to promote stillness and centering in your daily lives. The foundation for this practice will enable the guest to delve into and engage with community support models, paving the way for mutual aid and improved collective well-being.
The details:
-
We created a make-your-own button name tag station using aluminum button backings and seed paper.
Sourcing - We wanted a name tag that wouldn't just end up in the trash but something the guest could keep or easily compost or recycle
Disposal - You’re welcome to keep your keepsake name tag or remove your button and dispose of the backing pieces into the recycling bin and the paper into compost or add it to your garden!
-
In lieu of traditional and swag, we created a pop-up farm stand to honor the Autumn Equinox celebrate the upcoming Autumn harvest, and serve as a content backdrop. After the event, guests were invited to “shop” our stand and take home produce from our living display.
Sourcing - For our produce stand we partnered with Sharing Excess to fill our stand with produce.
Sharing Excess is dedicated to rescuing perfectly edible surplus and providing equitable access to food for communities everywhere.
Disposal - All remaining produce was donated to local organizations to share with their community. An estimated 35 lbs of food was provided to Brooklyn-based Free Fridges.
Other items used in the display were disposed of by recycling or trash. If possible we will reuse materials used in the event production in various places.
-
To inspire creativity we present to you The Expressionist Workshop - our watercolor art experience where we use plant waste or natural elements to make paint!
Sourcing - We source our materials through various channels; either by using plant waste, using pre-dried materials, or working with small businesses that create natural earth pigments.
Disposal - When the event concludes we will collect all supplies and gift all paints to local organizations to share with their community.
